Ausgangspunkt und Hintergrund von Death of Samantha / Season of Glass bildet das Werk des amerikanischen Künstler und legendären Designers Tony Duquette (1914–1999). Berühmt für seine extravaganten Innenarchitekturen, Schmuckobjekte, Kostüme, Filmkulissen und Night Clubs, beglückte er nicht nur Klienten wie Elizabeth Arden, die Duchess of Windsor, Herb Albert oder MGM Musicals mit Vincente Minnelli. Er war auch der erste Amerikaner, dem der Louvre eine Einzelausstellung ausrichtete. Tony Duquettes exhuberante Sprache trifft in New Jerseyy auf Werke von Isa Genzken, Wade Guyton, Balthazar Lovay, Marlie Mul, Walter Pfeiffer und Heimo Zobernig. Es handelt sich um Arbeiten, die sich ähnlich frivol und ausladend wie Duquette artikulieren oder aber ihre latente Exhuberanz mit der Sprache des Minimalismus kunstvoll tarnen: die Erotik der Inszenierung und der Oberfläche.

Starting point and background of Death OF Samantha/Season OF Glass the factory for American artist and legendary designer of the Tony Duquette forms (1914-1999). Famous for its extravaganten interior decorations, decoration objects, costumes, film sceneries and Night club, he not only client beglueckte such as Elizabeth Arden, the Duchess OF Windsor, Harsh Albert or MGM of musical with Vincente Minnelli. He was also the first American, who the Louvre aligned a single exhibition. Tony Duquettes exhuberante language meets in New Jerseyy factories of Isa Genzken, Wade Guyton, Balthazar Lovay, Marlie Mul, Walter Pfeiffer and Heimo Zobernig. It concerns work, which articulates itself just as frivolous and unloading as Duquette or camouflages however their latent Exhuberanz with the language of the minimumism artful: the erotism of the production and the surface.
